You might already know that no other source can provide such highly targeted and huge traffic for free as search engines. Traffic from search engines is known as “Organic Traffic.” Organic traffic is literally highly targeted and topic-oriented.

That’s why the ROI of SEO is greater than other traditional advertising methods, such as banner advertising and PPV advertising, and new email advertising methods, such as Solo Ads.

In search engine optimization (SEO), you are another one of millions of people who maintain websites and blogs to drive traffic from search engines to generate leads and sales.

You have to optimize your website for search engines by following their guidelines and making on-page and off-page optimization parts well. In Search Engine Optimization, there are dozens of free quality SEO tools to optimize your website for search engines.

When considering the best SEO tools, we cannot forget webmaster tools. Even though Google is the king of the web and the number one search engine that can send hundreds of thousands of visitors to your blog every day, as a professional blogger, you shouldn’t ignore other SEO tools.

Some search engines like Bing, Yahoo, Baidu, Yandex, Ask, and Duckduckgo can provide your website with a huge amount of traffic. But, you have to complete a few SEO settings to drive more traffic from search engines.

I have already posted an entire search engine submission guide that explains how to submit a website to multiple search engines such as Google, Bing, and Yahoo.

Search engine submission will help search engine bots find your blog and crawl it more efficiently than any other day. Even if you neglect the importance of webmaster tools, web spiders will crawl your site. But, not quicker, it might take a longer time, and sometimes it could take weeks and months.

After submitting your blog to Webmaster tools, you can control your blog’s appearance on search engines and increase search engine rankings.

Bing Webmaster Tools is a free SEO tool that has some exciting features that the Google Search Console doesn’t.

Bing reaches millions of users that Google cannot. So, adding your site to Bing will not only improve the exposure but also reach a new audience.

This tutorial will show you how to submit your Blogger blog, Tumblr blog, and WordPress to Bing webmaster tools. The same process goes to other websites and content management systems as well.

The three main sections of this SEO tutorial are above. Use the above links to navigate through each section.

Submit your Blog to Bing Webmaster Tools: The Step-by-step Guide

In an earlier blog post, I explained why you should submit your site to Google Search Console. If you have yet to add your site to Google, this is the perfect time for it. Read the tutorial over here.

As I mentioned above, the Bing webmaster tool comes up with some awesome features that many bloggers don’t know or ignore.

So, apart from Google Ads Keyword Planner and Semrush keyword research tool, you can use the Bing keyword research tool to find new search terms. However, you should have a Microsoft account to use this free SEO tool. Don’t worry; it’s free and easy to set up… So, let’s start adding your blog to Bing webmaster tools.

If you don’t have a Microsoft account (Hotmail or Outlook), create a new one over here. Then go to the Bing webmaster tools sign-in page and sign in to your webmaster account with your Bing email and password.

Once you sign in, you will be redirected to Bing Webmaster Tools Dashboard.

Now, you will be given two options:

  1. Import your sites from GSC
  2. Add your site manually

If you have already configured Google Search Console, proceed with the first option. If you have not, continue with the second option, which involves confirming your identity.

Now you are half done. There are only a few things to do. So, let’s move to the following parts.

Verify Website Ownership for BlogSpot

Once you have added your BlogSpot blog to Bing Webmaster Tools, the next step is to verify your site ownership. From options that you can use to confirm that you are the owner of the website, you can use only two options.

Because you can’t use the upload method for BlogSpot, I will use the second option here, adding meta tags to the header section. It’s simple and easy!

  • Step 1. Go to your Blogger Dashboard and navigate to the Themes → Edit HTML.
  • Step 2. Find the <head> HTML opening tag; just below it, paste the Meta tag.
  • Step 3. Don’t forget to save your Changes.
  • Step 4. After installing the meta tag code in Blogger, visit the verify page of Bing webmaster tools and click on the “Verify” button at the bottom.

  • Step 5: Now, you’re redirected to the Bing webmaster tools site dashboard.
  • Step 6: The next step is adding the sitemap of your blog to Bing webmaster tools. A sitemap is helpful for search engines to identify your blog’s content structure.

The problem with Blogger sitemap files

Blogger has an automatic sitemap generator. But, if you checked it correctly (example here), you can see that only 26 of the most recent blog posts are included in the sitemap. Bingbot and Googlebot couldn’t find your older posts (Dead pages).

Also, when you add a custom domain to Blogger (like www.pitiya.com), the automatic sitemap generator won’t work properly or won’t generate a sitemap.

So, you have to generate a new sitemap for your Blogger blog. Visit Amit Agarwal’s Blogger Sitemap generator page and put your blog address in the box.

After generating the Blogger sitemap, you will see the new sitemap URL of your blog.

Click on the “Submit Sitemap” button under the “Sitemaps” page and enter the URL for submission. You may add the first Blogger Sitemap URL that contains ‘start-index=1&max-results=500’ first.

That’s it. Now, you can see that the ProBlogTricks blog’s sitemap has been successfully submitted to BWT. (Note: Problogtricks was rebranded as Pitiya, and the site was moved to WordPress several years ago)

All Sitemaps : BWT
All Sitemaps: Now, you can submit any amount of Sitemaps to Bing webmaster tools

After adding the Blogger blog to Bing webmaster tools, you could see that Bing and Yahoo Search engines start contributing to most of your blog’s overall traffic. In other words, Bing will send more traffic to your blog.
