Why Should You Cancel Grammarly Subscription?
Grammarly is one of the best Grammar checking tools, with features such as checking plagiarism, getting synonym suggestions, and web browser extensions to fix grammatical errors automatically. Read this review of Grammarly to find out more.
However, you might want to cancel your Grammarly subscription and get your money back for one or more reasons.
- You accidentally subscribed to the Grammarly Premium annual plan (paid $144.00) but wanted to sign up for the monthly plan.
- You subscribed to the Grammarly Business plan, and Grammarly.com charged extra for you.
- You want to downgrade from the Premium plan to the free plan

How to get a refund from Grammarly
According to Grammarly’s terms and services, it does not adhere to offering refunds after the renewal date has passed. But, I have seen on many forums that people could get a refund from Grammarly after the renewal period by contacting them.
“If you cancel after your subscription renewal date, you will not receive a refund for any amounts that have been charged. Your cancellation will be effective at the end of your then-current subscription period, subject to applicable law, and you may use the Services until your cancellation is effective (unless your access is suspended or terminated as set forth below)”.

Conclusion on Getting Rid Of Grammarly Subscription
Although Grammarly is the best in the class, you might have reasons to cancel your Grammarly Premium subscription/membership and get a refund. In this short tutorial, you figured out how.
If you are looking for alternatives to Grammarly, check out this article. So, why do you cancel your Grammarly subscription?
It would be nice to receive a notice that your grammarly subscription is about to run out and ask if you want to renew or update your credit card. The card that was charged to was compromised and they went ahead and used not once but twice – 2 yearly charges why??? And the. 2 over draft fees …. I’m cancelling and going with another product since they just ran 300.00 in charges on a card that had no activity as per the Tenneasee Bureau of Investigation.
They don’t do refunds anymore. If folks want to try the premium, sign up for a month for $30 rather than a year subscription. I tried it and found it lacking. It failed to defect serious errors, especially after accepting its suggestions. It left me with this:
“…there would not a running replica when the app is deployed untiltraffic…”
Grammarly does’t seem to recheck text after you accept or decline its suggestions. Instead, it tells you “All clear!” In fact, Grammarly just checked this post and missed untiltraffic.
I was just charged 188 USD for Grammarly a second time. Thought I had cancelled, quit the extension, answered exit survey, recently had checked my Google Play account so that I did not have any active subs.
“They don’t do refunds anymore” I guess they don’t do returning customers either then, I didn’t have any problems paying for the annual sub, but since I haven’t been using it at all, I think you (Grammarly) got enough out of me already, why would you want to “refresh” my subscription when I haven’t been using my account?
Doesn’t seem like good business practice, I used to like your service and now I don’t since it have become more and more intrusive over the years.
I am from Brazil and last week I purchased Grammarly’s annual plan. When I checked my credit card I saw that they charged in dollar $144 and not in real, the currency of my country. It was a terrible mistake and I asked for the cancellation and refund. Will I be able to get it? The dollar amount quoted above is almost half my salary. I can’t afford it. I accept to pay a fine for the mistake made, but the total amount is impossible for me. Please help me find a way to cancel and have the amount refunded.
You can get your money back from Grammarly’s paid annual subscription if you are still within the refund period.
What is the refund period? I am not happy with there service and I want to cancel. Please let me know.
Thanks, Chamal
You are welcome, Patricia.
Did you get it refunded? If so, How did you do it
I got charged by grammerly, when I havent used their website, it was because my card was with them and I forgot about it that why they charged. I ask them for a refund, and they said it not possible. Is there any other way, i need that money back.
As I understand, you had an ongoing subscription with Grammarly. Grammarly allows refunds in the first payment; I am not sure about recurring payments, but most likely, they do not offer refund renewals. You can ask for a chargeback from your bank.
delete My Life account
I just made my first payment and I expected to be billed monthly. can I get a refund?
Assuming the refund window is not over, you can ask for money back from Grammarly.
I canceled my grammerly account a long time ago and some how they started charging me again. I don’t have the same email. How do I cancel a second time. I don’t need this service. I don’t care about the refund. Just stop charging me for services I already canceled and don’t use.
My email was ArmyGurl1972@gmail.com
I am sorry for the experience, Angela. I would recommend contacting the Grammarly support first and ask to delete your Grammarly account entirely. If it does not work, contact your bank and ask to stop Grammarly’s subscription.
