Grammarly Analytics

Grammarly

I have been using Grammarly for two years and haven’t looked for any alternative since then. There are lots of reasons for that cause. As for the quality of service and the efficiency of grammar checking, I was addicted to using Grammarly more often than I used to use other online grammar checker tools.

Grammarly Google Chrome extension allows you to check grammar, get synonyms, and receive phrasal sentence suggestions seamlessly on any website, including email apps, social media, and WordPress.

Here are a few key features of the Grammarly writing tool that you can’t resist using despite being a student, teacher, blogger, content marketer, or freelancer.

  • Writing Styles: One key point where Grammarly is better than most grammar checkers is its versatile writing style checker. Grammarly doesn’t just settle by applying the same writing style/rule. You can select the corresponding document type whenever you write a new article or proofread an existing document.
  • Check Punctuation: Grammarly can identify minor to complex punctuation in your content based on AI and suggest corrections. You can accept the suggestion or dismiss it.
  • Grammar Checker: Grammarly is made for correcting English grammar that other small grammar checkers can’t detect or correct. Grammarly claims it can fix over 250 grammar and punctuation errors.

Ginger Analytics

GingerSoftware

Ginger is the first tool that corrects grammar I have used. I used it for one and a half years before moving to Grammarly.

Ginger grammar checker and paraphraser

Here are a few key features and benefits of using Ginger.

  • Grammar Checker: Ginger’s Grammar checker is one of the key tools of Ginger. You can choose the English type (US or UK English) and start checking for grammatical errors in your content using the online checker or via browser extension, integrations such as Microsoft Office add-on.
  • Sentence Rephraser: Ginger’s sentence paraphrase lets you rephrase the content.
  • Translation Software: Ginger’s Translation supports more than 40 languages.
  • Ginger Mobile App: Just like Grammarly, with Ginger Software, you can check grammar and punctuation errors very efficiently with the mobile application.

Ginger is a top-notch grammar-checking software that is very handy for marketers, writers doing business with cross languages, and people who want to learn English speaking.

Ginger also has browser extensions for Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, and Internet Explorer.

Also, you can check grammar in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook by integrating the add-on on your Office package.

One disadvantage of Ginger Grammar is that it doesn’t provide an online editor as robust as the one in Grammarly for people who want to edit articles online.

All in all, Ginger is another top-notch writing aid.

Now, let’s put those features and tools into a table to see how each writing tool differs from the other.

  4. Hello Chamal,

When I saw this sentence :

“honestly I have not used it since years”

I wondered why Grammarly didn’t see it as wrong.

Not saying Ginger would have found it.

Maybe I am mistaken. But, in my opinion, saying “since years” is not good English. Better to say “for many years”, “in a long time”, “since last year”, “for the past 2 or 3 years”.

I’m sure there are other ways that are as good.

Take note that French is my first language, so I might be wrong.

Thanks for the review. It helped me to clarify that I choose Ginger because of it’s feature of reading text back to me, to learn about how to pronounce words correctly. I need that.

    Have a great day!

    • Hi Philippe,

I migrated blog content to another page builder. And have edited content here and there. So, they might have some mistakes. (I didn’t proofread some text btw)

I see you have chosen Ginger Software over Grammarly.

To be honest, I have used it first at 2013. So, I don’t know how far they have improved. Currently, I use Grammarly and will update this article with current features, limits etc.

No, any grammar checker is perfect. I have encountered many mistakes that Grammarly makes while correcting grammar and punctuation.

Have a great day for you.

      Chamal.

P.S: sorry for delayed response. That was weekend.
